Is Vilanculos Beach Lodge situated on the beach?+
Yes. Vilanculos Beach Lodge is a beachfront property with direct access to the shoreline. Our accommodation includes both ocean-view and garden-view rooms, all surrounded by the lodge’s tropical landscape.
How far is the lodge from Vilankulo Airport?+
Vilankulo Airport is approximately ten minutes from the lodge. Complimentary airport transfers are available for guests travelling on scheduled LAM and Airlink flights when flight details are provided in advance.
Is the lodge close to the Bazaruto Archipelago?+
Yes. Vilanculos Beach Lodge is conveniently located near the departure points for excursions to the Bazaruto Archipelago and National Park. Island day trips, dhow safaris, snorkelling excursions, and other experiences can be arranged through our reception team.
Can guests who are not staying at the lodge visit the restaurant?+
Yes. Our restaurant welcomes outside guests for lunch and dinner, subject to availability. Advance reservations are recommended and can be made directly with our reception team.
Does Vilanculos Beach Lodge host weddings and conferences?+
Yes. We host both intimate and larger wedding celebrations, with tailored arrangements for the ceremony, dining, accommodation, and selected extras. Our conference venue accommodates between 34 and 60 delegates, depending on the chosen layout, and packages can include equipment, catering, and accommodation.

Vilanculos Beach Lodge is amazing; it should be rated 10 stars and not 5. We cannot rate Angela and her staff highly enough. We have travelled the world and have never stayed at a lodge that is so well-maintained and clean. It is situated right on the beach, the rooms are beautiful, and the whole place is picture perfect. The staff are wonderful, the food is excellent, a perfect holiday getaway. We will go back many times.
The lobster was delicious. Arlindo the waiter was fantastic and the location is great. Strongly recommend it!
The place is incredible and the staff is extremely kind, professional, and attentive. The rooms are spacious. Angela, the owner, speaks French and was very welcoming. A big thank you, it was a great stay!
This is my fourth time at Vilanculos Beach Lodge, and I never get tired of coming back. The pool, the gardens, the tranquility of the place, the comfort of the rooms are the main highlights. All of this is complemented by the friendliness of the entire team, from reception to the restaurant. I will definitely return again.
Stayed at VBL for a few nights end Feb 2025. The Restaurant cannot be faulted. Great range of tastes accommodated on the menu. Staff very attentive and GREAT service. The Mozambique 1/2 Chicken is a must have!!
